A vehicle engine requires a precise quantity of air and fuel in order for the engine to operate. Air enters the system initially by means of an air filter. The air filter’s function is to strain out dirt and other contaminants in the air, hindering those particles from getting inside the system and causing harm. Usually, the air filter is bound to the intake manifold by means of a big plastic tube through which the air circulates.

The air filter is basically made from a material similar to paper, or any fibrous element, all folded up like an accordion and set on a plastic or metal base to match the air filter holder of your vehicle. Air filters can also be designed from cotton or certain fabric-like materials, which are oiled for maintenance, and to amplify airflow throughout the filter.

In order to maintain your BMW Z Series’ excellent performance, clean BMW Z Series air filter is always a must. Your BMW Z Series air filter should be replaced constantly, or your vehicle’s gas mileage will be affected. Dirty air filters can set off other systems in the car to operate fruitlessly, like the emissions control system, which controls the vehicle’s fuel and air mixture.

|
Dirty BMW Z Series air filter can also trigger the spark plugs to fail, since there will be excess fuel without sufficient oxygen, and it can keep your car from operating properly. So always check your BMW Z Series air filter. Air filter inspection can be done together with oil change and the annual car tune-up.
