The car’s suspension system is composed of various subparts. And all of these should work together in order to carry out their basic functions. Reducing the impact and results of shock elements, holding the automobile’s weight, sustaining the connection between tires and the road, maintaining precise car ride height, and handling the path of the car while traveling, are the basic functions of the suspension system.

All parts of the suspension system must be in excellent working condition in able to operate and perform their tasks efficiently. The control arm, like the BMW 528i control arm, is a device found in the suspension system which contributes immensely to realize the suspension unit’s goal. This looks like the letter A, and it is a bar with a pivot at each end of the control arm.

By employing a ball joint or a bushing, one side of the control arm is fastened to a knuckle or wheel flange. The opposite side meanwhile is linked to a frame, which usually revolves round a bushing. When coil springs were incorporated in the front and rear suspensions, a number of control arms are attached among the frame and the rear axle covering to grip the brake torque and driving. To further eliminate flex, control arms designed for high-powered performances are made. These result into more enhanced and inevitable usage and amplified traction capacities.

A faulty control arm can lead to a very uncomfortable ride. Too much movement in the car can make you and other occupants inside the vehicle dizzy, particularly those who are not used to going on long car trips. Replacement control arm is always the key to avoid this from happening and to guarantee better rides each day.
